I grew up in San Antonio Texas and graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Accounting and Economics. I then an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Upon graduation from Harvard, I joined Boise Cascade Corporation and spent the next several years in the planning department handling strategic analysis, capital budgeting and economic forecasting. Five years later, I joined Marcus & Millichap, the nation’s leading investment real estate brokerage firm. For the next 10 years, I was involved in the management and development of brokerage offices for several different firms in California, Texas and Florida. Transactional volume of these offices under my direction surpassed $750,000,000.
In 1995, I joined Westfalia Real Estate in Clearwater, Florida, where I handled the United States real estate portfolio, valued in excess of $100 million, for a German investment group. Over the next 6 years, I acquired Westfalia from the German group along with substantial real estate holdings. In the ensuing years, I built the firm into a full service real estate company handling, construction, development, property management, leasing and brokerage. Projects included the development and construction of more than 1,000,000 square feet of office space, 4 hotels, as well as light industrial and service center space.
In 2007, I served as Mission President with my wife in a voluntary, three year mission for our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), overseeing the missionary efforts and church operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Since coming to Murphy Business & Financial in 2012, I have closed dozens of transactions across a wide variety of industries.
