History
Hi-Five Sports began in 1990 with the opening of its first summer camp in Northfield, Illinois. Built on the belief that youth sports should combine fundamentals, teamwork and fun, the program developed a strong following throughout Chicagoland. A second location opened in Chicago in 2000, followed by the introduction of year-round sports programming in 2006. In 2011, Hi-Five expanded beyond Illinois with locations in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Menlo Park, California.
In 2014, the company opened its first Hi-Five Sports Zone in San Francisco, bringing its proven programming into a dedicated, child-focused sports facility. Hi-Five launched its franchise system in 2015, giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to operate either a flexible HomeBase Sports Club or a brick-and-mortar Sports Zone. Since then, the brand has expanded across multiple states while continuing to strengthen its programs, technology and franchise support. Our vision is to make Hi-Five a household name in youth sports by partnering with passionate local owners who create fun, positive and memorable experiences for children and families.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal Hi-Five Sports franchisee is a motivated, community-minded entrepreneur who enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive impact on children and families. A background in sports, education or youth programming can be helpful, but you do not need to be a professional athlete or experienced coach. Leadership, relationship-building and business-development skills are more important.
Successful franchisees should be:
- Comfortable building partnerships with schools, childcare centers, community organizations and local facilities
- Willing to market programs, develop local relationships and grow enrollment
- Organized and able to manage schedules, customer service and daily operations
- Capable of recruiting, training and leading coaches and support staff
- Committed to following proven systems while representing the Hi-Five brand
- Energetic, positive and passionate about creating outstanding experiences for children
- Ready to take a hands-on role in launching and growing the business
Hi-Five is an excellent fit for entrepreneurs, parents, educators, coaches, sales professionals and community leaders who want to build a scalable business with a meaningful local purpose.
